Rondo New Zealand is a highly focused business that manufactures and supplies a wide range of light gauge rolled formed steel products and systems, primarily for the construction industry. Rondo New Zealand was the first offshore site, with the Auckland site officially opening in 1993 and formed the foundation for further site investments. With increased growth in New Zealand, a second manufacturing facility was opened in Christchurch in 2014, to help service the South Island Market.
The plants produce ceiling and wall system products, including those that are specifically designed for the New Zealand market with the remainder of the range supported via Rondo Australia. Rondo continues to make substantial investments and advances in New Zealand, heavily increasing the range of products and systems manufactured locally. The Rondo DONN® Exposed Grid Ceiling System, XPRESS® Drywall Grid Ceiling System and SCREWFIX® Concealed Ceiling System are manufactured in our New Zealand Auckland operation and have been added to the current KEYLOCK® Concealed Ceiling System and Wall Stud established ranges.
The business became part of the Buy New Zealand Made Campaign (License Number 806956) in 2020. The Buy New Zealand Made Campaign allows businesses such as Rondo to become recognised and use the well-known Kiwi Trademark on products and services.
Rondo New Zealand provides a bespoke approach to projects, with the ability to efficiently manufacture standard products in custom lengths minimising product wastage and cutting on site. These manufacturing capabilities also allow for the manufacturing of custom sections to suit specific project design parameters. Rondo New Zealand partners with key local specification platforms along with having its own in-house design team which collaborate with local engineering practices ensuring compliant design solutions are offered to projects.
The New Zealand business has established strong partnerships with other local manufacturers and suppliers, sourcing most of its packaging and raw materials locally. Rondo has also formed strong partnerships with local distributors ensuring total national coverage for its products and systems. Distribution partners include Winstone Wallboards, Potters Interior Systems, USG-Boral, Asona and PlaceMakers Dunedin.
